Removed from a 2003 plate facelift BMW E39 530D sport touring with approx. 210k on the clock.

The unit has not got any rust on the surface, but unfortunately it has started to get into the drains. The driver’s one is the worst of the 2 drains. It may do some one a turn as it is good apart from the drains.
